49-inch ultrawide monitors also referred to as “super ultrawide” or “32:9“, have seen a surge in popularity since the beginning of 2020, and are now very much in demand.

Super ultrawide monitors are a great way to get more screen real estate without having to buy a multi-monitor setup. They try to offer a better experience, whether it’s more room for multitasking or an immersive gaming/movie-watching experience.

They’re also very, very cool.

49-inch ultrawide monitors have about as much screen real estate as two 27-inch side by side, but without the bezels in the middle.

There are many different 49-inch ultrawide monitor models with varying specifications; most offer a resolution of 5120×1440 pixels, but 3840×1080 pixels models are also available.

Two popular use cases for these monitors are professional/productivity and gaming.

Professional/Productivity: In the world of professional, productivity-heavy use, the 49-inch monitor is quickly becoming a popular option.

Since these displays offer a much wider field of view than a standard 16:9 monitor, this makes them great for multitasking and getting work done. For example, large spreadsheets will appear less cramped, which is ideal for professionals who need to analyze metric loads of information.

So if you need a solid, big monitor for professional use, a 49-inch monitor will bring a lot to the table.

Gaming: They can also offer an incredibly immersive gaming experience for racing games, flight simulators, RTS titles, and so on. However, they aren’t quite as widely compatible with games or videos that aren’t prepared for such a ratio.

So this is something to look out for if your primary motivator for getting a 49-inch display is to play a particular game.

Some monitors can even display two input sources at the same time, allowing you to switch the connected keyboard and mouse as you please between them, using the built-in KVM switch.

In this guide, we will go over some of the best 49-inch ultrawide monitors available today, and we will also discuss some of the features you should look for when shopping for a super ultrawide monitor.

1. Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 – Mini-LED Brilliance

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is the successor to last year’s Odyssey G9, which was already an impressive super ultrawide gaming monitor. This new version adds more features to improve the HDR experience and gaming performance, including a brand new Mini-LED panel, 2,048 local dimming zones, 2,000 nits brightness, HDMI 2.1 ports, and immersive RGB lighting.

Like the previous model, Samsung went with a 1000R curved design, glossy plastic back, and an RGB-lit ring at the back, which Samsung calls it Infinity Core lighting. What’s better is that the RGB lighting can now synchronize with what is displayed on the screen for a more immersive gaming experience.

Onboard you get all the usual screen-split bells and whistles, so you can use this monitor as a daily driver for work and home office. The stand can swivel, tilt, and height-adjust, allowing you to find the perfect position for work or gaming. There’s also a 100×100 mm VESA plate if you’d like to save desk space with an ultrawide monitor arm.

Image Quality

The display is the biggest change from the Odyssey G9. The Neo G9 features Quantum Matrix Technology, which combines a Mini-LED display with 2,048 local dimming zones and 2,000 nits peak brightness to deliver a stunning picture quality. It has darker blacks and better contrast than all 49-inch super ultrawide monitors in the market.

The previous model (and most HDR-enabled LED monitors) has only ten local dimming zones, which results in noticeable blooming and halo effect around bright objects. Samsung ramped up the dimming zones to 2,048, allowing the Neo G9 to achieve a high native contrast ratio and higher brightness, resulting in a drastic improvement in HDR picture quality. You’re still going to see some bloom, but only in really demanding scenes.

Other display specifications remain unchanged. You’re getting the same 5120×1440 resolution with a VA panel and 240Hz refresh rate. The display is G-Sync and FreeSync compatible and has a faster 1ms response time for a smooth and powerful gaming experience. Onboard, you get excellent in-game enhancements such as Black Equalizer to give you a competitive advantage over your opponents.

The Odyssey Neo G9 isn’t just for PC gaming. There are two HDMI 2.1 ports for you to connect your next-gen gaming PC or the latest generation of gaming consoles.
Here are the ports available on the Odyssey Neo G9.

  • 2 x HDMI 2.1
  • 1 x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 2 x USB 3.0 Type-A
  • 1 x USB 3.0 Upstream
  • 3.5mm Headphone Jack
Our Take

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 delivers the best SDR and HDR picture quality you can get from any super ultrawide monitor. It’s beautiful both inside and out, but you’ll need a beefier PC and wallet to experience the Mini-LED brilliance on your desk.

  • Brilliant HDR performance
  • Sharp and bright screen
  • Great gaming features, including 240Hz and VRR
  • Dual HDMI 2.1 ports
  • Ergonomic stand
  • No built-in speakers
  • Pricey

2. Samsung Odyssey G9 Gaming Monitor – G-sync, Quantum Dot, 5K at 240hz with HDR1000

The new Samsung Odyssey G9 super-ultrawide monitor is a winning choice for gamers and enthusiasts. It has the best features you can find in a 49 inch curved monitor making it the best super ultrawide for 2020.

In terms of design, the Odyssey G9 comes with a unique 1000R curvature for deeper immersion, realism, and eye comfort. The monitor sports a glossy white finish and a futuristic Infinity Core Lighting that can display up to 52 colors in five modes. Onboard you get excellent ergonomics with support for height, tilt, and swivel adjustments.

The 1000R curvature design is parallel with the peripheral vision of the human eye, making the Odyssey G9 the most immersive gaming monitor.

Like most super ultrawides, this monitor comes with a screen splitting software, the Easy Setting Box, that lets you view content from two sources simultaneously. Place different windows side by side or use Picture-in-Picture for smooth multitasking.

Image Quality

The monitor comes with a dual QHD (5120×1440) resolution running on a VA panel. It’s a sharp display with vivid colors perfect for gaming and even professional content creation. An IPS panel would have been the best in terms of viewing angles. However, you still have a high contrast ratio up to 2500:1 and a wide color gamut.

Samsung Odyssey G9 Gaming monitor leverages quantum dot display and DisplayHDR 1000 to deliver true blacks and brighter whites for realistic game worlds. The higher contrasts let you experience what the game developer had intended.

The gaming experience on the Samsung Odyssey G9 is breathtaking. In addition to its immersive curved display, the monitor has a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. There is absolutely no lag or motion blur on fast frame transitions. The monitor supports FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync for tear-free gaming on both AMD and Nvidia GPUs.

The only thing lacking in this monitor is a USB Type-C port. However, Samsung included two DisplayPort 1.4 ports and an HDMI 2.0 port.

  • 2 x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 1 x HDMI 2.0
  • 2 x USB
  • 1 x 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack
Our Take

Samsung Odyssey G9 ticks in all aspects of gaming. It has an excellent design with exceptional ergonomics providing a comfortable viewing experience. The 240Hz refresh rate makes it in contention for the best monitors of the next-gen consoles. Though it uses a VA panel, the colors are brilliant, and you get decent viewing angles. The Odyssey G9 is an excellent super ultrawide monitor for competitive gaming and professional creators alike.

  • Robust design with a 1000R curved screen
  • 240Hz refresh rate with FreeSync and G-Sync
  • Superior color reproduction
  • HDR 1000 with quantum dot technology for true blacks
  • Low input lag
  • Included screen splitting software

It is an excellent monitor for professionals working for long hours with Eye Saver Mode, Flicker-Free technology, and an adjustable stand with VESA mount compatibility.

Image Quality

The monitor delivers realistic images with Quantum dot technology and HDR 1000. It’s very bright with a peak brightness of 1000 nits. HDR pushes higher levels of contrast between light and dark images on the screen, which results in lifelike visuals.

If you love video editing and creating content on a big screen, you’ll love the wide viewing angles with brilliant clarity and color. The 1800R curvature ensures your content isn’t distorted or degraded from off angles.

There are different Game Modes that provide optimized gaming performance for fluid gaming with excellent color quality. The AMD FreeSync, 120Hz, and 4ms response time deliver a smooth gaming experience with no blurring or screen tearing.

The monitor doesn’t come with USB-C but does provide a plethora of input options for your Mac or PC. Here’s the port selection of the Samsung CRG90

Gaming Monitor:

  • 1 x HDMI 2.0
  • 2 x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 5 x USB 3.0
  • 1 x Headphone jack
Our Take

4. Sceptre C505B-QSN168 49-Inch Curved LED Monitor – 49-Inch Super Ultrawide 1440p

Sceptre is well-known for its affordable gaming monitors. Its C505B-QSN168 49-Inch Curved LED Monitor takes Samsung’s CRG90 Gaming Monitor head-on, with a 5120×1440 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, built-in speakers, and much more in an affordable package.
It’s a curved super ultrawide monitor with a 1800R curved screen, which is conventional for a monitor of this size. It has thin bezels to limit distractions and a clean black finish. The back is simple with no RGB lighting or other craziness, just a clean design that fits any office or gaming setup.

The Sceptre C505B-QSN168 is a great option if you want built-in speakers. It has a pair of 2W integrated speakers, which can get the job done for the average user. The stand is fully adjustable, and there’s a 75×75 mm VESA plate for mounting arms.

Image Quality

The 49-inch, Dual QHD display is sharp and bright, giving you somewhat of a rarity in super ultrawide monitors. Combine the VA’s panel native high contrast ratio with HDR 400, and you get decent HDR picture quality for gaming and watching content.
Gaming performance is impressive for a mid-range super ultrawide monitor. The Sceptre C505B-QSN168 has a 120Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium support, and 4ms response time, which combine to provide smooth and responsive gameplay. However, the response time isn’t the fastest. You might experience some ghosting in fast-paced games.

The FPS and RTS game modes are welcome additions for hard-core gamers. With a click of a button, you can get the best picture settings for your game, either the fastest response times and low input lag for your shooter and racing games or the best graphics for RTS and RPG games.

The Sceptre C505B-QSN168 has two DisplayPort inputs that can drive the full 5120×1440 resolution at 120Hz and HDMI ports that support up to 60Hz.

  • 3.5mm Headphone Jack
Our Take

It is a great alternative to the Samsung CRG90 if you need built-in speakers and more video inputs. It is heavily discounted on Amazon, making it a great budget 49-Inch super ultrawide monitor.

  • Incredible value
  • Sharp and flicker-free display
  • Great gaming features
  • PBP and PIP functions
  • Built-in speakers
  • 350nits not ideal for HDR

Experience immersive gameplay with this super ultrawide curved monitor with 120Hz Adaptive Sync and 1ms fast response time.

AOC Agon AG493UCX is a super ultrawide 5k monitor for gaming. Moreover, it does pack a plethora of features for productivity work at the office, such as video editing. It is an excellent monitor if you’re looking to multitask on a large screen without the distracting bezels at the center.

In terms of design, AOC Agon AG493UCX comes with a 1800R curved screen for an immersive viewing experience. 6. VIOTEK SUW49DA – Budget Super Ultrawide 5K Monitor

Viotek has updated its 49-inch super ultrawide monitor with a dual QHD display and 120Hz refresh rate. Is this the best value super ultrawide monitor?

2020 continues to amaze us with amazing tech and gadgets. While the Samsung Odyssey G9 headlines the best 49 inches super ultrawide monitors, not everyone has that amount of cash to spend. If you can let a few specs slide and make some compromises, you’ll land to the new VIOTEK SUW49DA super ultrawide 49-inch curved monitor.

It is an excellent super ultrawide monitor with an excellent all-round performance. Not much has changed in the design. It has a 1800R curved panel, not ridiculously curved, but the right curvature for gaming and productivity. Using this monitor gives you the same vibes as having two 27in QHD monitors, but without the bezels at the center and no extra cables. Viotek went for a clean look with a black finish and red accents. There is no RGB lighting or weird patterns, making it an excellent super ultrawide monitor for office productivity.

Onboard you get a reasonably ergonomic stand that supports tilt and height adjustments. There is no swivel or pivot, but you can use a 75×75 mm VESA mount for extra ergonomics and maximum viewing comfort. The monitor also comes with remote control for switching between inputs and other quick settings. The remote makes up for the lack of a built-in KVM switch.

Image Quality

VIOTEK SUW49DA is one of the few super ultrawide monitors to feature a dual QHD (5120 x 1440) resolution and a fast 120Hz refresh rate. It is an excellent alternative if your GPU can’t drive the 240Hz on the Odyssey G9. Color reproduction is perfect, with 121 percent coverage of the sRGB color gamut, 86 percent NTSC, and 90 percent DCI-P3, delivering striking colors with pinpoint accuracy.

The support for HDR400 is an excellent addition if you’re into HDR games, and with the VA panel, you get a decent contrast ratio to enjoy crisp colors and deep blacks.

The gaming performance in this monitor is impressive. The 120Hz refresh rate with FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility provides smooth gameplay with no screen tearing and image artifacts. AMD FreeSync offers a variable refresh rate of 48-120Hz, while Low Framerate Compensation ensures smooth action when the frame rates drop below 48Hz to prevent stuttering. But this monitor isn’t suitable for fast-paced and competitive games with only 4ms response time.

VIOTEK SUW49DA offers two HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports for connectivity, and audio I/O. There are no USB ports, which may not end well with some users. If you want more ports for connectivity, the AOC Agon AG493UCX is a decent option.

  • 2 x HDMI 2.0
  • 2 x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 1 x 3.5mm Audio Out
Our Take

The SUW49DA is an amazing super ultrawide monitor with a colorful and fast display, but still not there yet with the best. It lacks handy multitasking tools and has limited ergonomics. But if you want the best features for the money, we would gladly recommend this monitor. The VIOTEK SUW49DA is excellent on both worlds, whether you want a sharp, large display for productivity or a fast and immersive monitor for gaming.

  • Great value
  • Supports FreeSync and G-Sync
  • Sharp and vibrant 32:9 display
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • Accurate colors
  • Decent HDR experience
  • No swivel or pivot
  • Lacks split-screen software and built-in KVM switch

7. Dell UltraSharp – 49-inch Ultrawide 5k Monitor for Productivity

It comes with an inbuilt KVM feature to let you control multiple displays with the same keyboard and mouse. It allows an accessible toggle between different PCs with the same keyboard and mouse.

Get the most out of the ergonomic stand that allows you to tilt, swivel, and adjust your monitor to find the best viewing position. The monitor is VESA certified, and you can wall-mount it using a VESA-compatible arm to achieve zero desk footprint.

Image Quality

The image quality from this ultrawide monitor is simply impeccable.

The display comes in a 49 inch IPS panel with 5120 x 1440 resolution for clearer visuals. The display in this1440p super ultrawide is equivalent to two 27-inch 1440p monitors.

It supports up to 99% sRGB for near-perfect color accuracy. With this, you can see every detail and variation in your finance application. Factor in the 350 nits of brightness, and get even brighter and ultra-sharp visuals.

You can still get a decent gaming experience from the 60Hz refresh rates if you’re into panoramic,slow-paced games. But you’ll experience screen tearing and motion blur in the most high-end games.

Gaming aside, this display offers eye comfort solutions: you get a flicker-free, TUV-certified screen to protect your vision by reducing harmful blue light emission.

  • 2 x HDMI 2.0
  • 1 x DP 1.4

49-Inch Super Ultrawide Monitor Buying Guide – Things to Consider

We’ve set up this guide to help in your search for the best 49-inch super ultrawide monitor for your office/gaming setup. We’ve covered all the things you need to know to help you find just the right super ultrawide monitor for your needs, whether it’s for gaming, productivity, or content creation.

Screen Splitting Software

Whether you’re a programmer, professional content creator, data analyst, or multitasking pro, you’ll benefit more from a 49-inch super ultrawide monitor using screen split software. A screen split software comes in handy if you’re buying a super ultrawide monitor to add more screen real estate to multitask or replace dual monitors. It allows you to partition the screen into various layouts of multiple windows for seamless multitasking.

The combination of 49-inch super ultrawide and a screen split software eliminates the hassle of shuffling between multiple windows and tabs on two or more monitors, making multitasking effortless. Advanced split-screen software lets you view content from two PC sources side-by-side, great for professionals such as graphics designers working on both Mac and PC.

The Odyssey G9 comes with a feature-rich screen split software, Easy Settings Box, but it uses a VA panel. If you want the picture quality of IPS panels, Dell U4919DW and LG 49WL95C-W also include excellent screen splitting software. Should you buy a 49-inch ultrawide monitor that does not come with a screen split software, you can use third-party options such as DisplayFusion, but the best are not free.

KVM Switch

KVM (Keyboard-Video-Mouse) Switch allows you to share a single set of keyboard, mouse, and monitor among multiple computers. If you work on multiple PCs, you can save desk space, time, and money by buying a 49-inch super ultrawide monitor with a built-in KVM switch. With this, you don’t have to purchase a separate keyboard/mouse for each PC or waste time disconnecting and connecting cables each time you switch to a different PC.

Most 49-inch super ultrawide monitors come with built-in KVM capabilities, except those dedicated to gaming. However, there are external HDMI KVM Switches in the market you can buy to add KVM capabilities to your 49-inch ultrawide gaming monitor.

Resolution is very vital for a monitor of this size. You don’t want to spend so much money only to struggle reading the content on the screen. Resolution and size determine the pixel density, which results in either sharp or blurry display. Higher pixel density results in sharp, detailed images and crisper text. For any monitor, not just 49-inch, make sure to go for a higher resolution as you go up on size.

Most 49-inch super ultrawide monitors come with 5120x1440p or 3840x1080p resolutions. If you’re buying a super ultrawide monitor for productivity work such as coding, content creation, and browsing (web pages & documents), always go for 5120x1440p resolution to get sharper picture quality and crisper text. The extra pixels make the content on the 5120x1440p sharper, including crisper texts and lines.

For gaming, there is no significant difference, so you’re free to get either of them. But if you want detailed and sharper images, a higher resolution is always better. Note that you’ll need a powerful GPU to drive those many pixels.

Panel Type

Vertically Aligned (VA) panels dominate the ultrawide sector, offering better black uniformity, higher contrast ratio, and better performance in dark rooms. Gaming performance on these monitors is also outstanding. They can achieve a 1ms faster response time and higher refresh rates with no issues. For instance, the Odyssey G9 with a VA panel features a 1ms response time (GtG) and 240Hz refresh rate, great for competitive gaming.

However, VA panels suffer from narrow viewing angles and poor color reproduction, and if you’re a professional content creator, this is not the kind of 49-inch super ultrawide monitor you need.

If you’re in the creative industry, we highly recommend getting a 49-inch super ultrawide monitor with an IPS panel. In-plane switching (IPS) panels offer the best picture quality, color reproduction, and wide viewing angles. They display consistent, accurate colors and picture quality across the screen, no matter where you’re viewing from, excellent when sharing the screen with a colleague.

There are not many 49-inch ultrawide monitors with IPS panels in the market. At the time of publishing, only the Dell U4919DW and LG 49WL95C-W have IPS panels. They are professional monitors, so don’t expect excellent gaming performance on these monitors.

For a more in-depth guide on panel types we recommend checking our related guide on monitor panel types.

High Dynamic Range (HDR)

HDR can significantly improve the picture quality of a display and make your games and movies more immersive. It makes dark areas on a picture appear darker and bright areas brighter, improving the contrast ratio so that the display closely resembles real life. Colors and highlights pop more in HDR than SDR mode resulting in more realism and true-to-life images.

Not all 49-inch super ultrawide monitors support HDR. And the available HDR-compatible monitors don’t have the same HDR performance. For the best HDR performance, you need a higher brightness (~1,000 nits) and a wide color gamut. Full-Array Local Dimming makes a huge difference, but no super ultrawide monitor supports that yet. With a higher contrast ratio, VA panels produce excellent HDR picture quality than other panels.

If you want the best HDR experience, Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is the kind of 49-inch super ultrawide monitor you need. It supports HDR 2000 with up to 2,000 nits and 2, 048 local dimming zones, 95% DCI-P3, and a VA panel. The Mini-LED display delivers the best HDR picture quality with minimal blooming and halo effect. Monitors that support HDR400 and HDR10 standards deliver a decent HDR experience, but if you’re buying solely for HDR, monitors with at least HDR 1000 offers the best HDR experience.

It’s typical to find monitors of this size curved. A curved screen wraps around your field of view, providing the same viewing distance and picture quality from where you’re sitting to every corner of the display. This means less head movement and more immersion when gaming.

The degree of curvature is different from model to model. Gaming focused super ultrawide monitors tend to be aggressively curved than those targeting productivity and multitasking tasks. If you need more gaming immersion, the Odyssey G9 with a 1000R curve is a good recommendation. Otherwise, you won’t go wrong with any other 49-inch super ultrawide monitors with a 1800R curvature.

Refresh Rate and Response time

With more games now supporting ultrawide aspect ratios, including the 32:9, the demand for 49-inch super ultrawide gaming monitors is set to rise. There are already great options that offer impressive gaming features. If you’re a competitive gamer, you want at least 1ms response time, higher refresh rates (above 60Hz), and support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

Faster response time eliminates ghosting and motion blur on fast-moving objects, typical in competitive FPS titles. Generally, anything less than 4ms is great, but you’ll get more responsive and clearer gameplay using a 1ms panel. On the same note, higher refresh rates (144Hz and above) eliminates choppy frame rates for a fluid and smooth gaming experience.

There are just no better 49-inch super ultrawide gaming monitors in the market than Samsung’s Odyssey G9 Series, with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. If you’re on a budget, Deco Gear 49″ Curved Ultrawide with 144Hz and 4ms response time is an excellent alternative.

Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)

Support for VRR, such as FreeSync, is also vital when looking for a 49-inch super ultrawide monitor for gaming. VRR syncs the monitor’s refresh rate to the frame rates of a graphics card (gaming PC or console) to prevent screen tearing and stuttering. Screen tearing occurs when your monitor cannot keep up to the frame rates pushed by a GPU, resulting in more than one frame being displayed at a time.

Screen tearing is terrible and can make games unplayable. It is most common in monitors with low refresh rates, such as 60Hz. To prevent this, ensure to get a monitor that supports FreeSync or G-Sync. The best 49-inch super ultrawide monitors support FreeSync Premium Pro (also known as FreeSync2), which includes LFC and FreeSync HDR. FreeSync Premium Pro delivers smooth gameplay with the best HDR experience.

Multiple super ultrawide monitors support FreeSync2 (refer to our comparison table).

A monitor that’s both FreeSync and G-Sync compatible is recommended to ensure higher compatibility with Nvidia and AMD GPUs. Monitors supporting low FreeSync tiers work just fine, but they don’t offer the best HDR experience.

Are you using the monitor solely for gaming or productivity? If you’re buying a 49-inch super ultrawide monitor for productivity and office use, ensure you’re getting as many ports as possible, including USB-A and USB-C ports for peripherals. All the 49-inch monitors available have multiple video inputs, necessary if you want to connect more than one PC to the monitor at a time.

Type-C port is a great feature to look out for when buying a 49-inch super ultrawide monitor for productivity. A monitor with a PD capable Type-C port makes it easy to connect your work laptop and minimize cable clutter on your desk since you only require one cable for power and video. The good news is that most 49-inch super ultrawide come with USB-C ports, including the Samsung CHG90 (1080p) with two Type-C 95W PD ports and Philips Brilliance 499P9H (1440p) with one port 90W PD.

Webcam and Microphone

A built-in webcam is an excellent addition to a monitor designed for office use. It allows you to easily make video calls (zoom classes and corporate video meetings) and securely log in to your system using Windows Hello. This can save you some money you’d otherwise spend on an external webcam.

However, this is a feature not common in most monitors. Philips Brilliance 499P9H is the only 49-inch super ultrawide monitor that comes with a built-in webcam and microphone.

Ergonomics and VESA Compatibility

The best 49-inch super ultrawide monitors offer different adjustments for a comfortable viewing experience. It’s essential if working on the monitor for long hours and can also help you find the best viewing angles. Adjusting the screen reduces strain and pain from always moving your head or shoulders to see some parts on the screen.

Ensure the monitor supports height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. Note that pivot is not supported in most ultrawide monitors because they are too wide.

VESA compatibility is a must if you want to mount the monitor on the wall or use a VESA mounting arm. Most VESA mounts in the market support 100×100 mm VESA holes. You also want a heavy-duty VESA mount to support the massive weight of super ultrawide monitors. We have an in-depth buying guide of the best ultrawide monitor mounts in the market.

Super Ultrawide Monitors FAQ

As a rule of thumb, if your laptop has an HDMI, DP, or USB-C it can output the needed resolution.

Are 49-inch super-ultrawides fit for gaming?

Yes, when it comes to gaming, the specs are there. Super-ultrawide models with 1ms response time, g-sync, freesync, and up to 240hz refresh rate can compete with classic monitors.

That being said, there some games that place black bars and run in classic 16:9 aspect ratio, or they stretch the image to fit all the 32:9 screen, but overall, the gaming industry is starting to embrace and support the 49″ super-ultrawides.

Bottom Line

Super ultrawide monitors are slowly taking over the market and is because of the benefits and flexibility that they bring.

While it may take you multiple monitors set up to achieve the best multitasking. You still have to deal with the bezels separating the monitors and degrading picture quality on-off angles.

Ultrawide monitors bring a seamless desktop experience with unique curvature and a wide 32:9 aspect ratio to give you a lot of space to fit several windows. Screen Split and KVM allows you to use the same monitor, keyboard, and mouse with multiple display sources.

The VESA wall mount arm comes in handy when you have limited desk space, or you want to achieve zero desk footprint. It is rigid and firm enough to bear the weight of these 49inch super ultrawide monitors.
