1. Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

Starting at the top of our list the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. The G14 is a top contender in a lot of departments these days as its one of the most powerful gaming laptops out there loaded with a battery so powerful, it can match the timings of a regular workstation laptop.

Processor

The Zephyrus G14 comes with an Intel Core i7-9750H with six core and 12 threads. It has a base clock speed of 2.6GHz which can go up to 4.5GHz.

GPU

There are two GPU options when it comes to the G14. You can either go for the more budget-friendly GTX 1060 6GB variant of the laptop. Or, if you want to go all out and go RTX, the second variant comes with a GDDR6 RTX 2070 8GB. You’re free to select either depending on your requirements and what quality of gaming you’re going to be expecting.

Memory

The memory options of this laptop are just okay. They’re not too good and not too shabby either. It comes with a DDR4 16GB RAM and pairs it up with a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. The RAM is expandable but the SSD is not. You’ll need to swap out the SSD for a bigger one if you need more than 512GB.

OUR TAKE
The G14 is a great laptop and one of the best you can get in this price range. The biggest selling point of the laptop would be its battery time which is something extremely rare for a gaming laptop. The G14 is a great piece of machinery which is definitely worth the purchase.
PROS

  • i7-9750H processor.
  • Amazing battery timing even during gaming.
  • 144Hz display.
  • ROG’s Aerodynamic System for better anti-dust filtering and cooling.
  • Thin bezels, sleek design, and lightweight for an overall aesthetic design.
CONS

  • Loud fans even on low usage.

2. MSI GS66 Stealth

The MSI GS66 Stealth isn’t just a top of the line gaming laptop. It’s a laptop that gives you several different options in terms of processor and GPU, with each variant being just as powerful as the last one.

Processor

The GS66 gives us two options for a processor that you can couple with the GPU of your choice. The first is a 10th generation Core i7-10750H processor with eight cores, twelve threads, and a whopping 5GHz of max turbo frequency. What’s even faster than a 5GHz max frequency, a 5.3GHz max frequency. The second variant comes with an i9-10980HK processor which is pretty much the most powerful mobile processor you can load into your laptop.

GPU

You get all three Nvidia RTX options with the GS66. The RTX 2060, 2070, and 2080. The 2070 and 2080 are available with both processor variants mentioned above. But, the 2060 comes only with the i7 10th generation processor.

Memory

The RAM installed in all the 2070 and 2080 variants is 32GBs of DDR4 memory. It’s expandable up to 64GB as well. The 2060 variant comes with a 16GB RAM, but that too can be expanded to 64GBs.

In terms of memory, you can either choose between 512GB NVMe SSD which is specific to the i7 models, or a 1TB NVMe SSD installed in the i9 models.

2. MSI GS66 Stealth - FPS Metrics

OUR TAKE
A great laptop but we’d be lying if we said that the 1080P screen wasn’t a huge drawback. You’re getting such good hardware that could produce a crisp-clear display and give you a highly immersive experience. But, GS66 users will definitely miss out on a ton of potential performance they could’ve gotten out of their laptop.
PROS

  • 300Hz display.
  • Thunderbolt3 and USB-C Gen1 and Gen2 connectivity ports available.
  • 10th Generation processors.
CONS

  • A 1080P screen doesn’t do justice to the RTX cards or the 300Hz display.

3. Asus ROG Strix G15

You’re going to be seeing quite a few Asus devices on our list. Asus is one of the prime producers of quality gaming laptops and it just shows how they deserve to be on our list.

Processor

Continuing the 10th generation processor hype train, the Strix G15 also comes with the same i7-10750H processor that the MSI laptop above came with. A powerful processor to ensure that regardless of what you’re playing, your processor never backs down from giving you the best possible performance.

GPU

There are two GPU options with the G15. A measly RTX 2060 or the full-blown RTX 2070. Both are pretty much one of the best GPU in the world today. So, regardless of which one you decide to purchase, you’ll get the premium RTX experience that Nvidia has struggled hard to provide. However, a factor that might help you choose would be the refresh rate on the screen with both these GPUs. You’ll have the option to choose a 144Hz and a 240Hz screen with the 2060 but only the 240Hz screen on the 2070. If you’re out to save some money on your laptop buying ventures, opting for the 2060 144Hz version will give you a similar experience.

Memory

You’re getting 16GBs of RAM with the G15. Not too special since the MSI laptop we talked about earlier was providing some of the same specs with double the RAM. However, it is a dual-channel setup of RAMs, so that does make up for some of the shortage.

In terms of hard drive space, you have two options to go for. You could either go for the lighter 512GB option or the 1TB NVMe SSD option. A great deal in both scenarios, it comes down to preference about which storage option is more convenient for your requirements.

FPS Metrics

3. Asus ROG Strix G15 - FPS Metrics

OUR TAKE
Overall, a solid gaming laptop. But, as you can probably guess, it didn’t look good because of the lack of 32GBs of RAM and a 1080P screen. However, with the cash you’re paying, there’s an option or a much better screen and more RAM. If these two minor flaws were removed in a variant, you could have a solid gaming laptop that would be on the top of any list with gaming laptops mentioned in it.
PROS

  • 10th Generation processor.
  • 240Hz and 144Hz refresh rate.
  • RTX-enabled GPUs.
  • 3200MHz RAMs.
  • Decent storage options.
CONS

  • A 1080P screen.
  • Only 16GBs of RAM.

4. MSI GT76 Titan DT-089

Well, the only way to describe the GT76 Titan is that it’s loaded with the most insane and overpowered specs as compared to the rest of the laptops on this list. MSI clearly didn’t cheap out in any department when it came to the hardware and it goes to show how great of a gaming laptop it is.

Processor

The Titan uses a Core i9-9900K processor with a base clock of 3.6GHz and a max turbo frequency of 5.0GHz. This processor isn’t exactly last-gen, but it’s pretty much the only component in this laptop can could have been better. The latest 10th generation processor in this device would’ve definitely propelled it a couple of spots on our list, but regardless, it’s a powerful CPU with more than enough processing capabilities to cater to your gaming needs.

GPU

The GT76 goes full RTX with Nvidia RTX 2080. It’s one of the top GPUs in the gaming world today and a great option for people looking for immersive gameplay experience.

Memory

The memory options are where this laptop is superior to pretty much every other device on our list. In terms of RAM, you’re getting 64GBs of DDR4 memory. That’s not all. If you somehow feel that it’s not enough for your requirements. You could install more and get 128GBs of RAM loaded into this laptop.

The storage options, once again, extremely attractive. With most gaming laptops, you’re paying a fortune but only get 512GB of SSD space out of the box. If you need anything more, you’re going to need to pay extra to get any drive installed. This is pretty annoying since you’re looking for a gaming laptop and with games like Call of Duty Warzone that take 200GBs of space, such storage options aren’t usable in this day and age. MSI however, has your back. The laptop comes with a 1TB NVMe SSD AND a 1TB 7200 RPM hard drive to ensure that there’s more than enough space for every single one of your games.

FPS Metrics

4. MSI GT76 Titan DT-089 - FPS Metrics

OUR TAKE
If you’re looking for a laptop to serve as your daily driver, this is not the one. It weighs a lot to be chugged around. It’s more of a gaming station laptop. Hook it up to a monitor and you’ll have an amazing gaming experience, better than what even some high-end PCs can provide. It definitely more focused in terms of audience and the people that can use it, but it’s still a good purchase for its price.
PROS

  • Equipped with RTX 2080.
  • Superior memory options of 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD / 1TB HDD.
  • 240Hz display.
  • 7200RPM HDD.
CONS

  • Extremely bulky. Weighs 10 pounds.
  • 1080P screen.

5. Gigabyte AERO 17

The Gigabyte Aero is one of the most underrated series of gaming laptops there are out there. But, time after time, Aero has gone to prove that its one top gaming laptops out there in terms of spec sheets and performance.

Before we get into some details regarding the Aero 17, a short disclaimer. There are a lot of variants of the Gigabyte Aero 17, more than we can mention without making this whole section confusing. Gigabyte gives you a lot of options with the processor, GPU, screen size, screen resolution, memory options and hard drive space. We’re just going to talk about the most powerful of the variants with the best specs to really show what the laptop is capable of.

Processor

Starting with the processor, we’re getting the CPU which is pretty much the best in terms of performance right now from Intel. It’s a Core i9-10980HK processor with 8 cores and 16 threads and a base frequency starting from 2.4GHz and going all the way to 5.3GHz.

GPU

The variant we’re talking about uses an Nvidia RTX 2080 Super Max-Q. Most of the variants of the Aero use RTX GPUs, but if you’re a bit strict on budget, there are a GTX 1660Ti somewhere in there too which might be more your speed if you don’t have an insane amount of cash for your laptop-buying budget.

Memory

In terms of RAM, you’re getting 32GBs of DDR4 RAM. However, the hard disk does leave a bit to be desired. You only have a single M.2 NVMe 512GB SSD installed on the Aero. There is one 1TB variant out of the list, but it comes with an 8th generation i7 processor. It’s really weird how Gigabyte didn’t compromise anywhere else in terms of specs but included a 512GB SSD instead of a 1TB one, or maybe even more since its not as expensive as compared to some of the other components on this list.

FPS Metrics

OUR TAKE
Aero is definitely not one for the faint of heart. It’s one of the most expensive laptops on our list with some pretty sweet features that you don’t really expect from a laptop of these specs like a lightweight design, long battery life, slim design, and thin bezels. But, even with all those good features, there’s an equal number of cons as well. Is it a good laptop? Yes. Is it the best? Far from it.
PROS

  • Lots of variants giving you options in terms of processor, GPU, screen size, screen resolution, memory options, and hard drive space.
  • Comes with top of the line hardware.
  • Slim design.
  • Ultra-thin 3mm bezel.
  • 4K resolutions OLED display for crisp-quality display.
  • 94Wh battery for long-lasting life.
  • Extremely lightweight when the hardware in this machine is taken into account.
CONS

  • There are driver compatibility issues with Windows out of the box.
  • Gets hot while gaming.
  • The finish on the laptop leaves fingerprints on the surface.

6. ASUS TUF FA506IV

We have been learning a bit towards a lot of 10th and 9th generation Intel processor but have left out AMD a bit in our list. So, for all our AMD fans that have been waiting for a Ryzen machine in this list, this one is for you, and it’s a pretty good one. The TUF FA506 doesn’t just give you high-end specs; it gives you high-end specs at a price that’s hard to match.

Processor

So, the processor that we hyped earlier is a Ryzen 7 4800H CPU. It has 8 cores and 16 threads with a base clock speed of 2.9GHz and a max turbo frequency of up to 4.2GHz. The 4800H outperforms a 10th generation i7 processor so it’s definitely a must-grab and a great processor that brings the price of the laptop down a bit.

GPU

The TUF laptop uses an Nvidia RTX 2060 and gives you the great combination of a Ryzen processor with an Nvidia GPU.

Memory

The memory options with this laptop are pretty flexible as compared to the rest of the laptops on this list. In terms of RAM, you’re getting three different settings; 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. The storage options are slightly more interesting. Asus gives you the chance to choose pretty much any storage setup you could need. You could go the all SSD route with a 2TB SSD. You could get a 512GB SSD and a 2TB hard drive for all your games. You could tune it down a bit and get just a regular 512GB SSD. Asus makes the whole shenanigans of selecting storage space extremely easy giving you every possible setup that you might need.

FPS Metrics

6. ASUS TUF FA506IV - FPS Metrics

OUR TAKE
The Asus TUF laptop series isn’t really that popular because the company’s own ROG series often undermines this lineup. But, they’re still extremely viable devices that serve as a great gaming laptop as we can see from this one. It’s not perfect, there are certain flaws, but if it weren’t for the 2060 GPU or the processor slightly underperforming as compared to some i9 processors, this laptop would be way higher up on our list.
PROS

  • R7 4800H processor.
  • Energy-efficient LED for better battery timing.
  • VR Ready.
  • Several storage setups.
  • 8GB, 16GB and 32GB RAM options.
  • USB 3.1 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity options.
  • Decent battery life.
CONS

  • Components run a bit hot under heavy usage.
  • Fans get loud under heavy usage.
